3D modelingTool in Second Life that allows users to build virtual object to use, trade or sell
 
AltsThe alternative accounts of users who create more than one identity. 
 
Avatar(abbr. Av, AV, ava, avy) A user\'s digital representation of him/herself inside a virtual world.
 
GrieferAn avatar who significantly disrupts other in-world residents, either by use of offensive language, leaving garbage objects on land, or otherwise harassing other avatars.
 
Instant Message(abbr. IM) A private chat with another avatar that can\'t be viewed by anyone else.
 
Linden Dollars(abbr. Linden $, L$, L) In Second Life, the basic currency. The Linden dollar has a real market value, varying from 260 L$- 320 L$ per one US Dollar. 
 
MachinimaMovies made using pre-rendered Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) graphics provided by virtual games and worlds.
 
MetaverseAn immersive digital environment that allows avatars to interact with one another in a space that copies the image, but not the limitations, of the real world.
 
MMORLGMassively multi-player online real life game: A virtual world or game in which the user inhabits an avatar which they can change at will, allowing the user to play more dynamic, or multiple, roles.
 
MMORPGMassively multi-player online role-playing game: A virtual world or game in which the user plays a specified character that is the main feature of the game.
 
Persistent WorldDescribes the setting of a virtual world, which, in contrast to most other games, continues to develop and transform even when the user is not logged on. 
 
Primitive Object(abbr. Prim): The fundamental structure of an object in Second Life.
 
ResidentRegular users of a virtual world account (esp. in Second Life).
 
RezWhen an object created in Second Life is transferred to the user\'s computer.
 
RLShort for Real Life, a way to refer to one\'s life outside the virtual world.
 
SLurlIn Second Life, a web address that allows a avatar to go directly to a location in Second Life.
 
Teleport(abbr. TP) In Second Life, a feature that allows avatars to instantaneously appear in a desired location, as opposed to walking or flying to the location.
 
Terraforming Building and shaping land in Second Life.
 
User Generated Content(abbr. USG) Publicly available media content created by users. Can refer to videos, blogs, podcasts, photos, and wikis.
