Research at the Network Culture Project focus primarily on the issues of digital and network culture in a wide variety of contexts. From gaming to wifi to the political economy of the Internet, researchers affiliated with the Network Culture project are working to understand how culture, media, and society are being transformed by network technologies. As we move from centralized, push systems of broadcast to participatory structures that are decentralized networks of many to many or peer to peer communication, we are witnessing profound changes in how people communicate, interact and make meaning in the world. Our research goal is to provide a foundation for asking and answering the new questions that emerge from network culture.
